Our Research

Following The Sorrow of Werlyt, the VIIIth Imperial Legion's horrific attempt to create new weapons in the shadow of the disabled Ultima Weapon, the grand companies of Eorzea united to study similar aetheronautic anomalies in order to prevent further catastrophes.Under the guidance of Serpent Captain Tehze'a Rhunteka (otherwise known as Comrade Kupo), Ul'dah's Immortal Flames, and the remnants of the Students of Baldesion, the Baldesion Aetheronautic Institute was born.It serves two purposes: first, to educate the broader Eorzean populace about the benefits and dangers of technologies like airships and mobile weapons. Second, to research previous iterations of these creations and explore possible future uses for them, practicing the utmost safety.Visitors are welcome at the B.A.I. throughout the year. The first floor lounge and library are open to all, but access to the basement research facilities may be restricted, pending the safety of ongoing research activities.
